DocketLayer is designed with privacy as a default. We collect only what is necessary to operate the service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not display advertising. We do not build profiles of individual users for commercial purposes. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising-network-based tracking tools.
DocketLayer LLC ("DocketLayer," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at docketlayer.ai and the API at api.docketlayer.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights with respect to it. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Contact inquiries. If you contact us at [email protected], we collect your email address and the content of your message to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any marketing list.
No accounts. DocketLayer does not require or offer user accounts. We do not collect names, passwords, billing addresses, or other account information.
Solana wallet address. Your wallet address is transmitted as part of the x402 payment protocol. We collect and store it for billing verification, rate limiting, and fraud prevention. A wallet address is a pseudonymous identifier — it does not on its own identify you as a natural person, though it may be linkable to your identity through on-chain activity.
Query metadata. We collect the timestamp, court code and case identifier queried, response status, and payment amount for each API query. We do not log the full content of API responses beyond what is necessary for billing and debugging.
IP address. We collect the IP address of the client or server making API requests, used for rate limiting, fraud prevention, and security monitoring.
Technical request data. Standard HTTP request metadata including request headers, user agent strings, and response codes, used for debugging and performance monitoring.
If you visit docketlayer.ai, we may collect standard web analytics data including pages visited, referral source, browser type, and approximate geographic location derived from IP address. We use privacy-respecting analytics tools that do not track you across other websites and do not use advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, behavioral profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the Service.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the following legal bases: contractual necessity (to perform the service you have requested), legitimate interests (security monitoring and fraud prevention), and legal obligation (compliance with applicable laws).
DocketLayer does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Payments through the x402 protocol are recorded on the Solana blockchain. Blockchain transactions — including your wallet address, transaction amounts, and timestamps — are public and permanent by design. This is an inherent property of public blockchain infrastructure and is outside DocketLayer's control. If you wish to use the Service with greater privacy, consider using a dedicated wallet address not linked to your personal identity.
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption of data in transit, encryption of sensitive data at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No security system is impenetrable. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].
The DocketLayer API does not use cookies. The website may use a small number of essential session cookies that expire when you close your browser. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or persistent cross-site tracking technologies.
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we may have collected such information, contact us at [email protected].
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict processing; and to withdraw consent where applicable. To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
EEA and UK users who believe we have violated their data protection rights may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your California privacy rights, contact [email protected] with the subject line "California Privacy Request."
DocketLayer is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on contractual protections with our service providers to ensure appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at docketlayer.ai/legal/privacy with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after posting constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Privacy questions and requests: [email protected]. We respond to privacy inquiries within 30 days.
